Retro-Tricks: (NES) Removing console, fix problems and unlock region

starts the new section called Retro-Tricks with a guide dedicated to my first console, the Nintendo Entertainment System (commonly called NES), this section will host various guides on console, computer e software (per lo più retro), verranno esposte soluzioni ai noti problemi che affliggono questa console, e soprattutto verranno esposti vari suggerimenti per sfruttare al meglio la propria console

Sono sempre graditi consigli sull'inserimento di altre guide riguardanti la stessa console, e soprattutto sentitevi liberi di segnalarmi problemi e/o incorrezioni

How to: Sistemare il problema del "blinking"

Il NES è una console meravigliosa per tantissime ragioni, ma è anche conosciuta per la sua ristretta longevità a livello hardware.
Sostanzialmente, tutti i NES prodotti hanno un unico difetto, che consiste the duration of the 72-pin connector or the connector used to read the nes game cartridges, such a connector, over the years and use, are prone to wear, in this case it is possible that the various pins will oxidize, or that being filled with dust, or that you expand the "teeth" of the connector, all these problems lead to non-functioning of our console.

symptoms to understand that this is a common problem of "blinking" are as follows (not all occur simultaneously):

  • vision on screen is white / gray intermittently
  • The red power the console is switched on and off intermittently;
  • one color on the screen;
  • Graphics distorted;

The solution of the problem for 99.99% of the cases, then replace the 72-pin connector, but before the replacement is strongly recommended to try to clean it with Product antioxidant, or with a standard cotton-fiock soaked in ethyl alcohol.

The connector 72-pin NES

WARNING: Do not connect the cleaned up with even the presence of alcohol and / or pieces of cotton wool on it and also prevent a blow on the connector and / or game cartridges, solves nothing, indeed, doing so your saliva is deposited and you could create a layer of oxidation.

To replace the 72-pin connector is therefore necessary to open the console, the procedure to open the console can be found in the guide below (watch porn hardware: P)

HOW TO: Open the console and replace the connector 72-pin

The NES is fortunately very easy to open, we succeed also a 6 year old boy equipped with Phillips screwdriver of Clementoni: D
Bring then a standard screwdriver (or screwdriver commonly called American) turned the console with the bottom up and unscrew the screws, to remove the top cover with the lid, then you will be presented in the console as photos

Now unscrew the screws that hold cover securely in metal

A Then unscrew the screws that hold the motherboard into the case and bring out the motherboard.
disconnect from the motherboard and power supply terminal of the two terminals of the ports of the joypad (circled in yellow) and unscrew the screws remained several

At this point we can remove the the old connector 72-pin and replace it with a new one, follow the connector to remove the image below

Reassemble everything and enjoy your NES!
Do not worry if you do not remember the location of each screw, are almost all identical with exception to those that hold the connector.

HOW TO: Disable the Lockout Chip (Make the console Region-Free)

As we all know I hope there are several versions (region) of NES, the difference in version is based on the location of the console.
Unfortunately, unlike all consoles, portable consoles like the NES home were designed with a block Regional, which avoided the use of game cartridges from different regions of your console.
For simplicity, the NES console is divided into regions:

PAL-A: Italy, Great Britain, Australia
PAL-B: France, Germany, Spain
NTSC: USA and Canada

Be careful not to consider the Japanese NTSC version as it is and not Famicom Nes, the connector is totally different

The regional bloc is due to a chip on the motherboard to disable it just follow a few steps.
First you must open the console (follow the guide above), after the phase Opening the console, you need to find the offending chip for the regional bloc

Located chip no choice but to cut the pin 4
Council: instead of cutting cleanly through the pin, it is better to leave it there , disconnecting integration.

Here's another photo explanatory

Now reassemble everything and try a different region of the cartridge and will work with surprise and did not present the usual blinking also due to the regional bloc.

I had a tubal July 2020 and have not felt the same since. I have horrible PMS for the entire week prior to my period, my cramping and bleeding is off the chart, migraines three times a week, hot flashes are starting. My doctor suggested getting an IUD...That was even worse DON'T DO IT!!! I have gained so much weight I weigh more than I was when I was pregnant last year. So I have been in search of weight loss and I did crossfit for 90 days with no results. Then a friend of mine introduced me to Dr Itua herbal center product and I was resistant at first but thought what the hell I will try it for 30 days. In 3 weeks time I have lost 8 pounds but the best part is some of my symptoms have gone away or are far less noticeable. I started my period three days ago and on day two I realized NO CRAMPING at all!!! Then I realized that the pms was not nearly as bad as it had been...There was no dull achy pain, no lower back pain, no deep depression, less tired. I just wanted to share this because I stumbled upon what seems to be a miracle. I will keep you posted as the months go on. I am so grateful and hope that everyone suffering can get the same relief I have found. Please email Dr Itua Herbal Center On drituaherbalcenter@gmail.com for more herbal remedy also he can cure Hiv/Aids, Herpes, Cancer, Parkinson, MS, Diabetes, Hepatitis, Fibroid, he can help with a remedy to get pregnant as well. if you want more info just contact him to share your health problems.
